
The draw for round two of the Scottish Gas sponsored Scottish Cup will take place on Sunday first at 5pm. at Hampden Park.
Along with the other nine teams in the William Hill League2 the ‘Loons’ will be in the ‘hat’ for the draw which will also feature the thirty winning sides from the first round ties scheduled for Friday and Saturday of this week.
Two ties in round one are scheduled for this Friday evening including the clash between eighth tier Dalkeith Thistle and Lowland League Broxburn Athletic which will be televised live on BBC Scotland.
The remaining twenty-eight matches take place on Saturday with four Tayside teams involved.
Our neighbours Brechin City entertain East of Scotland First Division outfit Newtongrange Star at Glebe Park, Dundee North End are at home to Tranent who Forfar overcame in the third round last season while Lochee United are away to East Stirlingshire.
Jeanfield Swifts currently top of the East of Scotland Premier League and who famously dumped Elgin City out at the second round stage in no uncertain fashion just under a year ago head to Mossett Park where Forres Mechanics will provide the opposition.
The ‘Loons’ drew Huntly at the second round stage last term and in the end needed a dose of good fortune to progress in atrocious overhead conditions at Christie Park, this time round a home tie on October 26th would be the preferred option.
