Solitary Goal Success in Midweek Friendly

A Forfar Athletic X1 recorded a hard fought 1-0 win over Kirrie Thistle at Station Park last night.

The home starting eleven included in it’s ranks Mark Baxter, Derek Young and Omar Kader who were all given 45 minutes of match action, the remainder of the squad on the night coming from the Development team ranks.

It was in fact Omar who gave the home side the lead with we what turned out to be the only goal of the night on the ten minute mark sliding the ball home from 12 yards out.

The nearest the ‘Loons’ came to increasing that advantage came on the stroke of half-time when skipper Michael Kennedy crashed a 25 yard rocket off the crossbar.
