‘Loons’ begin campaign with historic fixture

Forfar Athletic  will commence their first season in six years in the fourth tier of the Ladbrokes Leagues with a visit to Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday August 6th to face Edinburgh City, the first club in the history of the Scottish game to gain promotion through the pyramid system.

Cowdenbeath relegated along with the Athies will be the first league visitors to Station Park a week later.

The first derbies of the season against Montrose and Arbroath do not arrive on the scene till October.

Boxing Day will bring a visit from Barry Ferguson’s Clyde, while the ‘Loons’ will be Elgin City’s first foots on January 2nd.

Annan Athletic are the last day of the season visitors to Forfar on the first Saturday in May.
