Station Park to host Cove Rangers Betfred ties
[Monday, 20 June 2016 11:45]
Highland League champions Cove Rangers will utilise Station Park as their ‘home’ venue for their Betfred Cup ties against Raith Rovers and Montrose.
The Aberdeen outfit managed by former Montrose stalwart John Sheran are at present without a ground following the sale of their Allan Park home and what has turned out to be protracted negotiations in regard to a site for a replacement.
Their main temporary base at Harlaw Park, Inverurie is also not available for the ties, hence the move south to Forfar.
Cove will therefore entertain Raith Rovers on Friday 15th July in the ‘toonie’ just three days in fact after they play the ‘Loons’ in a friendly.
This fixture will also take place less than 24 hours before the Athies entertain Dumbarton in their first fixture in the same competition.
Montrose will then be Cove’s opponents at Station park on Wednesday July 27th, on this occasion 24 hours after Forfar play host to East Fife.
Both Cove fixtures will kick-off at 7.45p.m. and details of admission prices etc will follow in due course.
