The ‘Loons’ will be the sole representatives of the Ladbrokes League 2 when the draw for the fourth round of the Irn Bru Cup is made in Edinburgh on Tuesday at high noon.
Following their thrilling and deserved victory over Raith Rovers on Saturday past, Gary Bollan’s side can look forward to a last sixteen clash on the weekend of October 8th/9th.
Of course at this stage of the competition the twelve SPFL clubs remaining in the tournament are to be joined in a novel experiment by two clubs from Northern Ireland & two clubs from Wales.
An SPFL club will be drawn both home and away to one club from the Irish and Welsh Leagues.
Belfast based duo Linfield and Crusaders are in the draw alongside New Saints, the Welsh league title holders form Oswestry and Bala Town from Gwynedd in North Wales.
Seven Championship sides spearheaded by Hibernian and Dundee United and four Ladbrokes League 1 sides are also in the hat.
It is certainly a draw that will be awaited with keen anticipation by all followers of the ‘Loons’ cause.
