Many Forfarians and for that matter Athies fans were in the crowd no doubt at Wembley last night supporting their country, but one supporter of the Station Park cause since childhood played a prominent part in the impressive pre-match ceremony to mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Weekend.
Blair Patullo a Lance Corporal in the Scots Guards currently based at Aldershot was one of the three wreath carriers representing the armed forces and was featured prominently in television pictures that were beamed live throughout the world.
Blair’s parents David a Station Park season ticket holder and Gail live at Westfield and Blair himself is a visitor throughout the season to the Station Park terraces on his visits home to the ‘toonie.’
It was the second time in his army career that he has played a role in a major footballing occasion. Back in 2011 he was heavily involved in the hand over of the Champions League trophy from the City of London back to UEFA at the official Dinner on the eve of the 2011 final at Wembley.
