Lord Lyell’s Funeral Service
[Tuesday, 24 January 2017 14:54]
Forfar Athletic were well represented at the funeral service held this morning in Kirriemuir Old Parish Church for their Honorary Patron of many years Lord Lyell of Kinnordy.
Former ‘Loons’ player and manager Archie Knox was also part of a substantial turnout as were Club Ambassador and former player Graham Stuart from Lord Lyell’s other footballing love Everton accompanied by the Goodison Park club’s Press Officer.
The service was conducted by Mgr. Aldo Canon Angelosanto, Father Neil Gallagher and the Reverend Malcolm Rooney.
The Eulogy delivered by Lord Lyells’ lifelong friend Lord Glenarthur painted a perfect ‘picture’ of Lord Lyell’s life.
Lord Lyell’s coffin left the church for a private cremation to the theme tune of sixties TV hit Z Cars, the same music as of course Everton enter Goodison to at home games, his ashes in due course to be scattered at both Station Park and Goodison Park at his own request.
