An Evening with Jim Spence & Friends – A Night to Remember
[Sunday, 12 March 2017 15:58]
A capacity audience of seventy enjoyed a quite simply superb evening’s entertainment in the 1984 Lounge on Friday past.
After an excellent three course meal, the patrons enjoyed a memorable hour of stories and anecdotes from every spectre of the beautiful game in the company of host Jim Spence and guests Archie Knox, Bob Valentine and Gary Bollan.
Archie in particular enthralled the audience with his tales of his early days as a player and manager at Station Park before moving on to his time at Old Trafford, Ibrox and Goodison Park to name but three.
Bob’s stories from a refereeing career that took him from Fairmuir Park in his native Dundee all around the globe were also of great interest to all, while Gary related tales from his own lengthy career and expanded on his hopes for the ‘Loons’ in the weeks and months ahead.
The second half of the evening took the form of a question and answer session with audience inter action which again was hosted by Jim in his own inimitable fashion.
The Board of Directors at Station Park would like to thank all those who supported the evening and contributed to also the financial success of the night by backing the raffle and auction.
Hopefully a similar evening can be fitted into the Station Park calendar next Spring.
