All to play for in title race

Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Station Park, Forfar Athletic and Arbroath are locked in a two horse race for the Ladbrokes League 2 title and with it the only automatic promotion berth.
As we approach the final hurdles, both sides have four games left with the ‘Loons’ still a point clear of the ‘Lichties’ at the top of the table.
It could not be more fine balanced in fact with both sides having two home and two away fixtures going ‘down the stretch’ as they say in golfing parlance.
This coming Saturday it is local derby time again for Gary Bollan and his players as they head to Links Park to meet Stewart Petrie’s Montrose, a team that they have failed to beat in three attempts to date this season.
Hopefully a large travelling support will make the short journey to the coast come the weekend, Arbroath at the same time in action against Edinburgh City at Gayfield.
On the 22nd of the month the Angus rivals meet the two sides battling at present for SPFL survival. Forfar welcome Clyde to Station Park, while Arbroath head for Cowdenbeath.
A week later on the penultimate Saturday of league fixtures, it is the ‘Loons’ who head to Fife to meet Gary Locke’s outfit, while the ‘Lichties’ welcome Elgin City to Arbroath.
May 6th and the thirty sixth and final fixture for both clubs.
On the ‘menu’ for Gary and his troops is a home match against Annan Athletic, while Dick campbell and his squad head to Forthbank to play Stirling Albion.
A few twists and turns along the way no doubt, before the destination of the silverware and a play-off spot for the loser of the ‘battle’ is decided.
