Six goal romp for Development Side

A slightly more experienced ‘Loons’ side recorded a 6-0 win over a youthful Livingston outfit in what was their last home game of their SPFL Development League East campaign at Station Park last night.
In fact the final score line could well have reached double figure proportions as chance after chance was squandered in the closing half hour of the contest in particular.
The home side raced into a 2-0 lead within six minutes. Matthew Aitken with a close range header netted the first, Frankie Devine the scorer of the second.
A third goal after incessant pressure arrived on the 36 minute mark, courtesy of a fine strike from the edge of the box by Jamie Gill.
The home side then proceeded to score three goals in the opening five minutes of the second period.
Josh Chalmers finished off a fine move down the right flank for number four, before Frankie Devine netted his second from close range.
Michael Kennedy was the scorer of number six with a deft back heel flick from the edge of the six yard box.
The young ‘Loons’ now have two away league fixtures to play.
They head for Stirling next Tuesday, before a long midweek jaunt to Berwick on Wednesday the 26th.
There is further Development League action at Station Park this week when Dundee United entertain Dunfermline Athletic on Friday afternoon with a 2p.m. kick-off.
