MATCH PREVIEW: Forfar Athletic v Albion Rovers
[Thursday, 24 August 2017 14:41]
The ‘Loons’ welcome Albion Rovers to Station Park this Saturday, both teams having identical records to date in the Ladbrokes League 1 with one win and two defeats from their three games played.
Forfar manager Gary Bollan will welcome back Josh Peters to the fold and all connected with the club will be hoping that the young Highlander can re-discover his scoring form of the early part of last season.
Jamie Bain is obviously ruled out through suspension while Connor Quigley injured in the warm up last Saturday at Starks Park is ruled out for four weeks.
Marc Scott is also struggling to get over the knock he suffered up at Dingwall in the Irn Bru Cup, but there will be home debuts for Rodrigue Nanitelamio and Patrick Cregg.
Rovers managed this season by Brian Kerr with former Station Park favourite Stuart Malcolm as his right hand man will no doubt be smarting from the SPFL decision this week to eliminate them from the Irn Bru Cup and with it the loss of a home clash with Linfield following the fielding of an ineligible player in their first round tie with Spartans.
The Coatbridge side were unbeaten over ninety minutes in their four Betfred Cup ties having brought in ten new faces in the close season, former Brechin City striker Alan Trouten making an immediate impression in particular.
Nevertheless the home side will hope to secure a second successive home win prior to the one week break from league duty ahead.
The referee for Saturday’s clash is Premiership official Greg Aitken.
Admission charges are the usual £13/7 for the stand, £12/6 for the terracing.
Milnbank Developments are the match sponsors with all five hospitality packages available also fully booked.
The Club Shop situated at the rear of the east terracing will be open for business before the game and again at half-time and on the final whistle.
Finally the 1984 Lounge at the ground will be open from 12.30p.m. till kick-off and again on the final whistle till approximately 8p.m.
