Young ‘Loons’ head into break with a victory

A young Forfar U/20’s Team returned to winning ways last night against a Cowdenbeath side featuring a few first team players on the all-weather pitch at Kelty.
Forfar went into the break 2-0 up thanks to a Max Avolio header and a strike from distance by trialist Josh Chalmers which took a slight deflection on its way into the back of the net.
Forfar played excellent controlled football in the second half under the watchful eye of new Development Manager Kevin MacNaughton and it was no surprise when they increased their lead with an excellent passing move involving Avolio and Ben Starkey with the latter crossing to the inrushing Kyle Clark to finish smartly at the near post.
Shortly after this the Cowdenbeath goalkeeper had to be taken off after a nasty collision with one of the home defenders, however Forfar couldn’t add to their tally and it was indeed Cowdenbeath who scored the final goal of the evening with virtually the last kick of the ball which deprived Forfar keeper Jacob Otto and his back four the clean sheet that they deserved.
Final Score:- Cowdenbeath 1 Forfar 3
The Development League now takes a winter break until February but they may arrange a number of friendlies to keep the players ticking over
