Team News – Forfar Athletic – The ‘Loons’ slipped back into bottom position in the Ladbrokes League 1 table following last weekend’s results and head into Saturday’s fixture minus the defensive duo of Michael Travis and Andy Munro who are both due to serve a one match suspension on the totting up process. Darren Whyte who only survived the first half at Alloa is also a doubt. Dale Hilson who to date has only seen 45 minutes of action at Kirkcaldy in early January following his move from St. Mirren has put in a full weeks training and hopefully will be in the squad.
Stranraer - The Stair Park side whose home game with Arbroath was washed out last Saturday allowed a handful of their more experienced players to move on in the January window in a cost cutting exercise. They replaced them a few Premiership youngsters on temporary transfer. Steve Farrell’s outfit lost their last outing at home to East Fife two weeks back by two goals to nil. Star performer for them in recent times has been Angus Beith on loan from Hearts and he was on the score sheet in the December clash between the sides.
Summary – Despite the absence of a few key players, this is still a must win occasion for the ‘Loons’ and there is no reason why three points cannot be secured ahead of the visit to Hampden on the 24th.
