Team News – Forfar Athletic – A few of the squad picked up minor knocks in Tuesday night’s match but hopefully all will have recovered by 3p.m. on Saturday. Eddie Malone serves the third and final game of his suspension.
Ayr United – Starting line up likely to be along similar lines following the fight back to earn a point at Arbroath on Wednesday night which took the ‘Honest Men’ to the top of the table on goal difference.
Summary – The ‘Loons’ will look to build on their excellent performance against Raith on Tuesday night, undoubtedly their best of the campaign as for the second time in a week they play host to a team sitting top of the table. Results so far this term have been mixed against Ian McCall’s side with a 5-0 defeat at Station Park in October being followed by an amazing fight back to clinch a 3-2 win with a depleted side at Somerset in late December. Ayr’s strike force of Lawrence Shankland and Michael Moffat are however a potent threat.
The home support also put in a five star performance in the second period on Tuesday evening getting right behind the player’s efforts on the park. More of the same on both counts will do nicely!
