Stirling Albion v Forfar Athletic
[Monday, 16 January 2023 17:47]
Following on from their excellent victories at Annan and at home to Dumbarton, the ‘Loons’ are on their travels over the next two weekends in the cinch league2.
The Forthbank Stadium is the destination on Saturday first for the re-arranged fixture against second in the table Stirling Albion.
The original fixture due on December 17th fell victim to the wintry conditions that prevailed at the time and fingers are already crossed for this coming weekend.
The forecast for the central belt over the next 72 hours is to say the least dicey, but a sharp rise in temperature is forecast by Friday and we all hope this will be the case.
For Ray McKinnon and his squad it will be their fourth outing of the calendar year while their opponents have not played a competitive fixture since Hogmanay when they triumphed 3-1 at home in a local derby against Stenhousemuir.
Over the past two Saturday’s scheduled matches at Dumbarton and Bonnyrigg have failed pre-match inspections.
Hopefully Forfar will be able to count on a reasonable number of supporters making the relatively short journey of just over an hour’s duration to lend their backing on the day.
A full preview will appear on our media channels on Friday morning.
