Forfar Athletic v Stranraer
[Monday, 30 January 2023 16:47]
Following Saturday’s excellent and hard fought 1-0 victory at Coatbridge, the ‘Loons’ return to Station Park this coming Saturday for the first of two successive home fixtures, Stranraer the opponents followed seven days later by Stenhousemuir.
Ray McKinnon and his players go into the match now sitting in fifth position in the cinch league2 table, two points clear of this week’s opponents who occupy eighth spot.
The home side are also now in pole position in the six game form table, five victories in the period seeing them sit proudly on the fifteen point mark in that regard.
We will not dwell on it, because positivity is the keyword around Station Park these days, but the one defeat and the manner of it during that six game period still rankles with many.
This early in the week it is hopeful that Ray will have a near full strength squad to choose from but an assessment has still to be concluded on the knock which saw Roberto Nditi exit the action during Saturday’s second half.
Mild weather is the weekend forecast but of course that can change, but hopefully the home support will continue to turn out as they have done in increasing numbers in recent times and give full backing to the players on the day.
On the subject of support a big thank you to the more than reasonable number of supporters who made the trip to Cliftonhill on Saturday past.
