Huntly v Forfar Athletic
[Monday, 23 October 2023 14:26]
After two weeks of inactivity, the ‘Loons’ will hopefully get back into action on Saturday first when attention turns to the second round ties in the Scottish Cup, this season sponsored by Scottish Gas.
Christie Park in Huntly will be the venue for a clash with the local Highland League side who are enjoying their best start to a league campaign in many a day and currently sit in joint second place in the league standings, three points behind leaders Formartine United but with two games in hand.
Saturday’s tie is reckoned to be the first ever competitive contest between the sides at the Aberdeenshire venue, the last occasion the clubs paths crossed in the cup when Station Park hosted a 3-1 home win in 2002.
For those who have not been at a ground where the Athies have played a few pre-season friendly fixtures, Christie Park is situated within comfortable walking distance of Huntly town centre.
There is a thriving social club situated at the ground which is open on match days to all supporters.
Kick-off on Saturday is at 3p.m. and the game will be played to a conclusion with extra-time and a penalty shoot-out if required to decide who will be in the ’bowl’ for the third round draw.
Admission prices are as follows;-
Stand – Adults £12, Concessions £7
Ground- Adults £10, concessions £5
Payment by cash at the turnstiles.
As usual a full preview of the fixture will appear on FAFC social media channels on Friday.
