Thanks Again
[Sunday, 18 February 2024 12:55]
Nearly 24 hours on, the fact that the ‘Loons’ did not pick up all three points from yesterday’s visit of Peterhead still seems slightly surreal, following a blistering first half performance during which we netted three goals in a league match for the first time since April of 2022. All of 61 games ago, Annan Athletic the opponents on that occasion.
No time to dwell on the end result, the point gained taking us above Stranraer on goal difference, the management and players must put that second half showing behind them, dust themselves down as they say and prepare for another vital away game against Clyde in just over 48 hours time.
As regards yesterday game a huge thank you yet again to the home support who turned out in excellent numbers, the crowd of 667 our largest home league attendance of the season to date.
Thanks yet again also to Dave and Scott Barn and all at D&A Factors our match sponsors yesterday as part of their overall sponsorship package of the club this season.
Their financial backing has been superb and so appreciated by all.
At the end of a pulsating ninety minutes, they settled on Marc McCallum as the ‘Loons’ Man of the Match, Scott himself carrying out the presentation honours.
The various groups in the main hospitality lounges on Saturday had a distinct agricultural feel to them, in the best tone of the wording of course! All were also welcome return visitors, in fact ‘veterans’ almost in this regard, the support of all three parties much appreciated.
Louise Taylor her family and friends occupied both the Doug Houston and Stewart Kennedy Lounges, while Bill and Malloch Nicoll and their in the main farming colleagues and guests enjoyed the delights of the experience in the Ian McPhee Lounge, the Archie Knox Lounge occupied by keen ‘Loons’ fan week on week Drew Wilson and his good friends.
Valerie Galley originally from the ‘toonie’ but domiciled for some years now In Peterhead had a party of relatives taking up the 1984 Lounge package for the visit of the ‘Blue Toon’ outfit.
Thanks to all concerned.
Three away games are scheduled within the next fortnight, before the ‘Bully Wee’ our opponents at Hamilton on Tuesday evening again provide the opposition on March 9th at Station Park in our next home cinch league2 fixture.
