Forfar Athletic v Queens Park – Match Information
[Monday, 05 January 2026 16:57]
The ‘Loons’ are scheduled to head back west on Tuesday evening to play Queens Park in the round of last sixteen in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
The fixture at the City Stadium, formerly Lesser Hampden will have the normal 7.45pm. midweek kick-off. However although it is believed that the playing surface at the City Stadium has been fully covered over the weekend, the plummeting temperatures over the whole country which are due to continue over the next 24 hours have cast major doubt on the fixture getting the green light.
The SPFL have confirmed an inspection will take place at 11am on Tuesday morning. We will keep supporters up to date on developments.
If the game is postponed it will likely be re-arranged for Tuesday week the 13th of the month.
If by some minor miracle the match on sign is posted, the ‘Loons’ will certainly head to Glasgow in continued good heart following a solid performance against Clyde on Saturday which with a little ‘rub of the green’ could have yielded three points instead of the one that was procured.
Their match day squad for the cup tie will also be bolstered by the return of Craig Slater, suspended on Saturday past and potentially Neil Stafford. Latest signing Callum Wilson is also available.
While the Athies were battling it out at New Douglas Park, our opponents on Tuesday evening were inactive, their scheduled SPFL Championship clash at Ayr United a late morning casualty of the wintry conditions.
Admission prices for the tie are as follows;-
Adults £14
Concessions (65 & over, Students & Under 18’s) £8
Under 12’s £5
Away support tickets for the clash with the ‘Spiders’ should be purchased in advance, see the Queens Park official website for full details.
