‘Loons’ too strong for ‘Vale’

Forfar Athletic recorded a 6-0 victory over Highland League side Deveronvale at Station Park this afternoon.
It was however vital game time for the Station Park squad ahead of next week’s visit of the ‘Red Lichties’ to Station Park.
The only down side for the Station Park squad was the performance as an apprentice PA Announcer in the second half of the ‘rested’ Martyn Fotheringham.
Back to football and the home side went in two up at the interval. They took the lead through a Lewis Milne free kick from the edge of the box in the 28th minute, Tam O’Brien netting the second from a close range header from a right wing corner three minute before the half-time whistle.
The Athies made four substitutions at the interval, another two within ten minutes of the re-start, but it did little to stop the one way flow of ‘traffic’ towards the visiting goal.
Eoghan McCawl netted a third with a twenty yard strike in the 57th minute, before Lewis Milne netted his second of the afternoon eight minutes later.
Marc Scott netted number five with a close range strike in the 68th minute, before Matthew Aitken completed the scoring four minute later.
Forfar lined up – Adam(McGovern), Travis(MacKintosh), Bain(Kennedy), Malcolm, O’Brien, McCawl, Scott, Milne, Cox(Aitken), Swankie(Smith), Denholm(Gill)
