The ‘Loons’ management team received the good news yesterday that the injury sustained by young defender Euan Spark in the second half of Saturday’s game against Ayr United was not as bad as first feared.
The club’s medical team sent Euan straight to Ninewells after the game for an an x ray, fearing that he had chipped a bone in his shoulder which would have brought his season to a premature end.
Thankfully the diagnosis was severe bruising and Euan who will receive treatment throughout the week at parent club Dundee United could be fit to face Stenhousemuir on Saturday.
Gary Bollan will be hoping this is the case with Bryan Hodge who had to come off at half-time against Ayr rated doubtful for the Ochilview clash, Derek Young, Michael Dunlop and Martyn Fotheringham who all sat that game out struggling to be fit into the bargain.
Thankfully Scott Martin who was struck down by a virus on Saturday morning and was unable to travel to Station Park should be fighting fit for the ‘Warriors’ test.
The Station Park boss is in dialogue with Scott Smith who was a second half substitute as a trialist on Saturday about potentially signing till the end of the season.
The young midfielder released by Dundee United in January spent a couple of months on loan at Forfar last term making eight starting appearances.
