MATCH PREVIEW: Forfar Athletic v Cove Rangers
[Monday, 11 July 2016 16:26]
The ‘Loons’ will welcome current Highland League champions Cove Rangers managed by John Sheran to Station Park on Tuesday night for what has become almost a regular pre-season fixture.
Cove’s players will also be using the match to familiarise themselves with the playing surface and surroundings as they will be utilising the ground for their first three competitive fixtures of the season.
Gary Bollan in what is his side’s last of five pre-season jousts will be hoping to field a starting line-up that may well resemble his current thoughts for the Betfred Cup opener against the ‘Sons’ on Saturday.
Danny Denholm is suspended for that visit of Dumbarton following his late red card against Hearts in the League Cup in August of last year.
Jordan Moore who netted the only goal of the game against Inverurie Locos on Saturday is likely to given another opportunity against Cove to impress the home management team.
Cove, homeless for a second season gave a good account of themselves according to reports in a 3-0 defeat from Dundee United last week in one of their few games to date.
Tuesday evening’s fixture kicks off at 7.45p.m.
Chris Fordyce who handled the match with Locos at the weekend will again be the man in the middle.
Admission prices are £6 adults, £3 concessions.
The 1984 Lounge will be open from 6.30p.m. till kick-off.
