MATCH PREVIEW: East Fife v Forfar Athletic
[Friday, 22 September 2017 11:34]
The ‘Loons’ head to Methil tomorrow afternoon to face East Fife with Assistant Manager Stuart Balmer in charge of team affairs assisted by Barry Sellars following the end of Gary Bollan’s tenure as Manager in the wake of last Saturday’s 5-0 home defeat from Arbroath.
This was the Station Park side’s fifth consecutive league defeat, a run that now sees them prop up the Ladbrokes League 1 table, an unsatisfactory scenario for all concerned with the club.
The coaching team and the players will no doubt be keen to put that right starting with an improved performance and hopefully a three point haul against Darren Young’s side, but that will be no easy task.
The Fifers sit on nine points from their six games played to date and recorded an excellent 1-0 win at Airdrie last weekend, this following home reversals from Queens Park and Raith Rovers.
Stuart Balmer is certain to make changes to last week’s starting eleven, although his final selection will be determined by some last minute reports on a few niggles.
There will be one new face in the Athies ranks.
This morning the club completed the signing on an emergency temporary transfer of twenty year old central defender Darren Whyte from St. Mirren and he will make his debut at New Bayview.
The match has a 3p.m. kick-off and the referee is David Lowe who will be handling a Forfar fixture for the second time this campaign.
