Team News – Forfar Athletic – For once Manager Jim Weir has a suspension free pool to select from, Mark Millar returning having served a one match ban at Methil last weekend. Latest signing Greg Hurst could well make the starting line up while home fans will get their first opportunity to see Russell Dingwall and Ross MacIver in action. Darren Whyte and Dale Hilson will have fitness checks, while Murray MacKintosh picked up a slight knock against East Fife. A last minute bid on Wednesday evening to bring a defender on board to boost the ranks for the remainder of the season fell through due to complications at the player’s parent club.
Airdrieonians – The ‘Diamonds’ under new ownership since the turn of the year have brought in seven new faces in the ‘window,’ namely Willie Muir from Queens Park, Darryl Duffy from St. Mirren, Dale Carrick and Ross Brown from Livingston, Chris O’Neill from Brechin, Daniel Higgins from Kilmarnock and Jordan McGregor from Hamilton Accies. Jordan will however sit out Saturday’s contest through suspension after being sent off in the 0-0 draw with Arbroath last week.
Summary – The ‘Loons’ head into the game looking for three successive wins and will have taken great heart from their last two performances against Albion and East Fife. The travelling support also played their part last week at Methil, so hopefully with a similar response from the terracings on Saturday, a real ‘team’ effort will see the ‘Loons’ continue their upward momentum.
