Summary – The ‘Loons’ head to Cumbernauld on Saturday on the back of two excellent results and performances, the first a goalless draw against Raith at Kirkcaldy, this being followed by the much needed and well-deserved victory over Peterhead last Saturday.
No injuries were reported after the Peterhead fixture with Hearts loanee Rory Currie likely to return to the Athies squad after a month out for the visit to North Lanarkshire.
Jordan Kirkpatrick and Archie MacPhee remain sidelined.
The ‘Bully Wee’ had a disappointing November losing three of their four league fixtures. They did, however, reach round four of the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 derby win at Stirling.
Danny Lennon’s side relies heavily on the goal-scoring exploits of former Scotland internationalist David Goodwillie, 16 goals to his name already this campaign while goalkeeper David Mitchell and defender Martin McNiff have started all 24 competitive games to date.
The early season encounter at Station Park was a hard-fought affair with neither side, in the end, giving way and there is little to suggest on the evidence of recent results that the sides on Saturday will not again be fairly evenly matched.
