Bobby Barr – Loons fifth January signing

Stuart Malcolm has continued the re-building of his squad with the signing of experienced midfielder Bobby Barr from East Stirlingshire.
The 31-year-old had made well over 400 league appearances for St. Johnstone, Albion Rovers, Livingston, Morton, Brechin City, Raith Rovers and Dumbarton up to the end of last season.
He then somewhat surprisingly turned down a new deal at the ‘Sons’ opting for Lowland League action with the Shire.
He has been a regular throughout this campaign to date with the Falkirk Stadium based outfit but had intimated a yearning to return to SPFL action in the January window.
Stuart moved quickly to secure his services on an 18-month contract with a nominal fee exchanging hands.
Bobby will train with his new colleagues tomorrow evening in preparation for the visit of Clyde to Station Park on Saturday.
The ‘Loons’ manager is still investigating further additions, prior to the registration window closing on Friday night, but he also has the option as do all League One and Two clubs of bringing in players on Domestic Temporary Transfers up to a maximum of four during February month.
At present, the Athies have two players namely George Stanger and Ryan Shanley on loan deals.
