Season Tickets – 2020/21 Season

A few supporters through the facebook page or by e mail have been in touch with regard to the potential early sale of season tickets for next season as a way of bolstering the club’s cash flow in these troubled times.

A few SPFL clubs have gone down this route but Forfar Athletic officials have like many others resisted this course of action for a few reasons.

Firstly at present we are keeping our ‘head above water’ financially, though that may not be the case as time moves on.

Secondly revenue from season  ticket sales for next term is factored into the ever changing budget figures for the next financial year which commences on June 1^st.

Thirdly and most importantly as has been documented aplenty, like all other clubs currently we have not a clue when next season will commence and alongside that sad fact, we do not know how many league fixtures we may have at Station Park.   There is also still talk of closed doors football at the commencement of any competitive games, although this would appear totally unrealistic and certainly not economically viable at our level.    Then you add potential reconstruction into the melting pot!  

This makes it impossible for the ‘Loons’ Directors at present to come up with any pricing formula for current ticket holders to renew or potential new season ticket holders.

The interest shown however is much appreciated as has been the great response from supporters to the share purchase scheme over the past six weeks since the pandemic struck and this has proved a real boost to club funds.

The Board of Directors who are constantly in touch by phone or e mail in the current climate also have another full Board Meeting planned by Zoom Video Conference for Wednesday of this week and will issue another update on club affairs thereafter.
