Test Live Stream v Brechin City (Hopefully!)
[Monday, 28 September 2020 19:59]
As reported we have been working hard behind the scenes to set up a live streaming service. This required an update to our broadband service at Station Park which was completed today, with the camera system installed last week. All going well with the final set-up tomorrow morning we hope to be able to offer tomorrow evening’s pre-season fixture v Brechin City as a test live stream.
We have to stress the word ‘test’ as this is a completely new venture for the Club and with every new project there will no doubt be some teething issues – so please bear with us! We are also not able to offer commentary on the live stream at this stage.
In order to properly test the registration and payment platform, we will be charging a nominal fee of £2 for tomorrow’s game. We will post information about where and how to register for the live stream on social media channels as soon as we can tomorrow afternoon ahead of the 19.45 kick-off.
We apologise for the last-minute nature of this but until we knew the broadband upgrade had been completed we could not finalise the necessary parts of the system to allow us to 'go live'. You will be able to live stream the match via an up to date laptop, Computer, smartphone or tablet. The quality of the Live Broadcast stream will be dependent on the bandwidth and speed of your internet connection.
Again we reiterate that this is subject to the final set-up being completed in time and it will be very much a test for us to see how it all works. We will then work with Pixellot to make the necessary tweaks to the service in time for the competitive action.
Future Matches
In terms of future matches, and as has been advertised over the last few weeks, this live streaming service will be offered to supporters for games where there is no or restricted spectator access.
Season Ticket holders: Adult and Concession season ticket holders who have provided an email address will receive their log-in details prior to the first home league match v Dumbarton on 17 October. They will be able to access the live stream for all home league matches and the Betfred Cup Group match v Brora Rangers in November if there are still restrictions on supporters attending games.
Pay-per-View (PPV): we intend to offer a PPV for the Betfred Cup Group match v Hibernian on 13 October and thereafter for league matches, again while supporter restrictions last. Please note the Hibernian match is not part of the season ticket package and all supporters who wish to view it will need to do so via PPV. Further details will be published very soon.
