Live Stream … Goes Live
[Tuesday, 29 September 2020 18:21]
We are pleased to confirm that we will be live streaming this evening’s pre-season match v Brechin City. This will launch our new service – Forfar Athletic TV.
Once again, we apologise for the last-minute nature of providing this information, but there are various parts to pull together and tonight’s match gives us the opportunity to try it out.
We do stress once again that this is a test of the system from the registration, payment platform and the actual stream and so we do ask for your patience with any issues which might arise.
How to Watch
In order to watch this stream please follow these steps:
Visit: https://forfarathletic.univtec.com/home
Register: You will be asked to register (once you have registered for the first time you should not need to register in future and can simply log in when visiting the site above).
Match: You will see tonight’s match listed on the site. It is currently the only match listed. You have to ‘subscribe’ (ie pay) to watch the match.
Subscribe / Payment: This match is £2 and is described as a 24-hour pass. This should appear on the screen when you click on the graphic for tonight’s match but if not please go to the top right-hand side and click on the ‘person’ icon. Find ‘Subscription’ in the list – click on it and follow the payment steps.
Watch: Kick-off is 7.45 pm and the stream will go live at 7.30 pm. Go back to the website above and log-in. This time when you click on the match graphic the stream should appear!
Equipment: You will be able to live stream the match via an up to date laptop, Computer, smartphone or tablet. If you have a smart TV you should be able to mirror/stream it to the TV (you will need to refer to your phone/tv user guides for information on how to do this). Please note that the quality of the Live stream will be dependent on the bandwidth and speed of your internet connection.
A few things to highlight.
This is a test and the first time we have been able to stream a match and so while we hope it will all run well we cannot guarantee it will be perfect!
This is not Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC etc so the viewing experience will be a bit more like being at the match – ie if you pop away to get a cup of tea and miss some of the action there are no action replays (but you should be able to re-watch the match later). Club Videographer Josh will be capturing the action as per usual and these highlights will also be available on the usual channels.
Audio – we are not in a position to offer commentary to the live stream at this stage but you may well hear pitch noise.
