Ladies and Sportsman’s Dinners Cancelled

Sadly for the second year running the club have had no option but to ‘pull the plug’ on both their Ladies and Sportsman’s Dinners.

They were scheduled for March and May of this year respectively in the Reid Hall.

Both events had seen the ‘Sold Out’ signs regularly posted in recent times and were eagerly anticipated and enjoyed by all.

However as the Covid outbreak struck in March of last year, the Ladies Dinner was one of the first functions in the town to be cancelled at only a week’s notice.

What was to have been a special celebration, the 25^th Annual Sportsman’s Dinner then fell by the wayside two months later.

Who could ever at that time imagined that some eight/nine months on similar decisions would have to be made again in regard to two of the club’s major fundraising evenings.

However, with no let-up in the pandemic and with the Reid Hall doors looking likely to remain locked for a few months to come, no other decision was possible.

We can only live in hope for 2022!
