Double Signing by the ‘Loons’

Manager Stuart Malcolm has added some more experience to the Station Park playing ranks with the return on transfer deadline day of Andy Munro and the arrival of Grant Anderson.
Andy who spent three seasons with the Athies after his arrival from near neighbours Arbroath moved on in January of 2019 for a modest fee to Stenhousemuir.
The Edinburgh based 28-year-old central defender who was club captain at Ochilview and a regular starter with the ‘Warriors’ this season has now made the ‘return journey’ for a similar transfer fee and has signed a contract at Station Park till the summer of 2023.
Stuart had been keen to bring in an experienced central defender in this window, following the long term injuries suffered in the first half of the season to both Steven Anderson and Darren Whyte.
Grant Anderson arrives following his release by high flying Lowland League side Kelty Hearts to bolster the ‘Loons’ engine room.
The 34-year-old brought to an end a second spell with Raith Rovers last year to move along the road to Kelty.
Grant who has signed a short term deal with Forfar until the end of the current campaign began his senior career at Stenhousemuir and has also worn the colours of Hamilton Accies, Queen of the South, Peterhead and Stranraer.
Heading in the opposite direction from Station Park is youngster Cole Starrs who has been released having made just one substitute appearance in the sky blue colours.
Although the registration window closes at midnight tonight, there is still the opportunity available to bring in players on loan until the end of February at present.
Of course, for obvious reasons in the current shutdown scenario, such transactions are in the main on hold as far as League One and Two clubs are concerned.
In fact, most Premiership clubs, in particular, have recalled the players they had loaned out on temporary transfer agreements pending further information on a potential re-start to the lower league campaigns.
