Thank You

The ‘Loons’ played their last game of the calendar year at Station Park yesterday and sadly their unbeaten home run this campaign came to an end in a somewhat bizarre fashion.
No one, having watched the side in recent weeks, could have possibly imagined we would lose four first-half goals but on Boxing Day, that was the ‘sucker punch’ the ‘Warriors’ delivered.
All credit to the Athies covid hit squad who fought back bravely in the second period but they just could not find that equaliser in the final thirty minutes of the contest and it was Stenhousemuir whose first-team pool was also stretched to the limit on the day who headed home with all three points.
A big thank you first and foremost to the 411 supporters who turned out to lend their most appreciated support to the side, despite the truly atrocious overhead conditions.
Also thanks to Vice Chairman Alastair Donald and his friends mainly from the Laurencekirk area who sponsored the fixture.
Thank you as well to Garry Balfour and Keelan Deas who organised groups within the hospitality complex not of course forgetting the Davie Family.
We move on now to an away fixture at Elgin on Sunday first, before Stranraer come calling on Saturday week.
