Former ‘Loon’ gets Scotland Appointment
[Sunday, 27 February 2022 12:39]
Congratulations are the order of the day for our former defender Stuart Glennie who has been appointed as the new Manager of the Scotland Under 16 squad succeeding Stuart Taylor in that role.
Stuart who joined the Athies in the early nineties as an 18-year-old from his hometown junior outfit Banchory St. Ternan was a member of the Station Park squad under the stewardship of Tommy Campbell who won the Third Division Championship in 1994-5 season.
In fact, Stuart played in the right-back role on the day the title was clinched by Bobby Mann’s wonder strike up at Dingwall in April of ’95.
Stuart has been heavily involved in the coaching side of the game for many years now and has been highly respected in and around the Granite City in particular where he has been the manager of the SFA’s High Performance Academy.
He will continue in that post alongside his new prestigious role in the development of the future stars of our game.
Stuart has been a frequent and welcome visitor to Station Park over the years and we wish him well in his new post.
We will watch the results of the squad with interest.
