League One Play-Off Semi Final
[Sunday, 01 May 2022 10:55]
Following yesterday’s results, the ‘Loons’ were confirmed as the runners up in the final cinch league2 table.
Gary Irvine, his coaching and backroom staff and the players all deserve tremendous credit for their overall performance in what has been at times a difficult season with like life in general covid still an ever-present worry and problem throughout most of the campaign.
Thankfully we now head into the play-off fixtures with almost a full-strength squad available.
The second spot attained by Gary and his colleagues also ensured that the second leg of the semi-final will be played at Station Park which was the preferred option.
The first leg against Annan Athletic will take place at Galabank on Tuesday evening of this week with a 7.45 p.m. kick-off.
It is a long midweek trip, especially at such short notice but hopefully a few ‘Loons die hards’ will manage to make the journey to lend their support.
The second leg will then take place at Station Park on Saturday the 7th with a 3 p.m. kick-off.
Hopefully, we can count on a fair number coming along to lend their backing in what is such an important game for the club,, although all accept that the first leg score will have a bearing in this regard.
Forfar Athletic season tickets are not valid for playoff fixtures and normal admission prices will apply as follows;-
Stand
Adults £15
Concessions (65 & over) £9
Under 17’s £5
Ground
Adults £14
Concessions £8
Under 17’s £5
With regard to Saturday’s game, club officials have managed to obtain a match sponsor and it also looks likely that the sold-out sign will be posted for matchday hospitality.
As ever we are far from ‘counting our chickens’ but a reminder that the dates for the Play-Off Final are Tuesday 10th and Friday 13th of May.
