James Keatings – ‘Loons sixth summer acquisition

Experienced striker James Keatings has vowed to resurrect his playing career at Station Park after a disappointing last twelve months battling a hip injury with parent club Raith Rovers and on loan at Montrose prior to calling it a day for the campaign back in March.
James who signed for the ‘Loons’ last night after agreeing a one year deal, his first as a part-time player in a senior career that began in 2010.
The forward who began that career as a youth team player with Celtic had considered quitting the game altogether but after talks with Gary Irvine agreed to the move to Forfar.
James who represented Scotland eighteen times at various age levels in his early footballing days, scoring nine goals in the process had spells on loan while at Parkhead with St. Johnstone and Hamilton Accies before joining the Lanarkshire club on a permanent basis.
He netted thirteen times in thirty appearances for the Accies in the 2013/14 season, before a move to Hearts saw him score eleven goals from a similar number of appearances the following campaign.
A trip across the Capital City to Easter Raod was the next step for James where in a two season spell with Hibernian he made over fifty first team competitive appearances scoring fourteen goals.
Spells with Dundee United, Hamilton for what was a third time and Inverness Caledonian Thistle followed before he arrived in Kirkcaldy a year ago.
James trained with his new colleagues last night and may well make his debut at Alloa tomorrow or in the Station Park clash with Washington Huskies on Wednesday eveningof next week.
