Stirling Albion v Forfar Athletic
[Monday, 24 April 2023 14:31]
As an April month which has so far yielded one point comes to a conclusion, the ‘Loons’ head to the Forthbank Stadium on Saturday first for a daunting clash with newly crowned cinch league2 champions Stirling Albion.
This will be the Athies penultimate league game of the campaign and they go into it knowing that despite their recent dip in form, a place in the cinch league1 end of season play-offs is still in their own hands.
Victories over the ‘Binos’ and East Fife on May 6th would secure fourth spot in the table. That will be no easy task and it will certainly require a return at the very least to the form shown pretty consistently in the first three months of the calendar year.
However the group of players who have worn the Forfar colours since Ray McKinnon’s arrival deserve great credit for their efforts and there is no reason why they cannot rise to the occasion once again over the next two weekends.
Hopefully quite a few ‘Loons’ fans will be able to make the trip to the central belt by coach or car to support the cause on a day which will no doubt see the hosts presented with the league trophy at the conclusion of the ninety minutes.
Let’s hope we can put a wee dent in the party atmosphere!
