Ray McKinnon brought his first team squad numbers up to eighteen earlier this evening on almost the eve of the competitive season when midfielder Finn Robson signed a one-year contract.
Finn of course is a ‘weel kent’ face to the ‘Loons’ faithful having spent a highly successful second half of last season plying his trade at Station Park on loan at that juncture from Dundee United.
Finn was released by the Tannadice outfit in June and he has now followed in the footsteps of United teammates Adam Hutchinson and Darren Watson in deciding his immediate future on the football front will be with Forfar Athletic.
A native of Dundee Finn who will turn 20 at the end of the current month has taken a little time to make this decision and he had a trial period earlier in the month with Hamilton Accies.
Finn came through the youth ranks at United, signing his first professional contract two years back.
Short loan spells with Spartans and Kelty Hearts were part of his football ‘education’ prior to arriving on a temporary transfer till the end of the season at Station Park in mid-January.
Finn was a regular for the Athies in the remainder of the campaign becoming a firm favourite with the supporters, making in fact 16 appearances plus one from the bench, netting on two occasions into the bargain.
He will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s Viaplay Cup tie with Cowdenbeath.
A warm welcome back to Finn as he begins the next stage of his football career.
