THANK YOU from David McGregor
[Monday, 20 November 2023 16:00]
I am taking the liberty of utilising the FAFC media channels to post a heartfelt thank you in the first instance to those who attended the sold out Dinner in my honour in the Reid Hall on Friday past.
It was so kind of the club to organise this almost unique event in my honour and from what I have heard in the aftermath was enjoyed by all in attendance.
It was not surprising I suppose an evening that will live with me forever and it was wonderful to share it with relatives, friends, past and present club officials, guests from other SPFL clubs, so many former ‘Loons’ playing legends and important the supporters, the life blood of the club.
The honours that were announced on the night by the current Directors are to say the least humbling but rest assured in my new role as Honorary Life President I shall continue to assist the club as and when required in anyway possible and naturally I intend to continue supporting the team itself home and away on a regular basis.
It was also a great honour to receive the medal and gifts from Calum Beattie of the SPFL and again I will certainly treasure the former in particular.
Before moving on a big pat on the back to Ray, Andy and the players for their performance at Bonnyrigg, which just put the ‘icing on the weekend cake.’
I would also like to put on record my thanks to all who have posted so many complimentary messages, no more required I can assure you on the club’s facebook and twitter pages both back in May and in recent days.
They mean a helluva lot to me.
We are all part of, from the youngest supporter to the Chairman, in my opinion a great club which has survived through good and bad times, thick and thin for nearly 140 years. As I said on Friday evening in the Reid Hall, Scott and his fellow Directors have a difficult task these days backing the management team in attempting to put a successful side on the park and at same time balancing the books.
Rest assured they will have my full support in that task going forward and I am sure the backing of all true ‘Loons’ fans.
Thanks again.
David
