Chairman’s Christmas Message
[Friday, 22 December 2023 15:11]
As another Christmas and New Year approaches we’d like to thank all our sponsors, supporters and volunteers who contribute to running the club.
Like all supporters, we as Directors would have preferred to be sitting further up the table as we approach the half way point of the season. The teams ability to punish other teams when given the opportunity has been missed on numerous occasions and we find ourselves light on points.
Our management team are as disappointed as everyone else, bearing in mind they don’t select a team to lose. Yes, we had an injury list at the start of the season that we had to contend with but latterly we haven’t been so bad for injuries.
The transfer window is upon us very soon and I know that our management team will be looking to strengthen the squad to compete to climb the table in the second half of the season.
As always fundraising events are required to keep the club running, we held a successful Sportsman’s dinner back in May, a golf day in August then we recently had the Dinner to celebrate David’s 40+ year’s service to the club which were all very well attended and supported. This coming year we have the Ladies Dinner in March then an End of Season Dance in the Reid Hall in May planned.
We are also in the early stages of coordinating a Suicide Awareness event to be held in June at Station Park this is in conjunction with Forfar Academy and The Forfar Community Football Trust along with various other businesses. The Community Trust are also in the process of distributing the festive friends food parcels as they have done successfully in the past years. As a club these are all things we are proud to be involved with.
All that’s left to say is that we as a club appreciate your continued support, as a board of directors we will do everything that is possible to support the management team for the transfer window opening to strengthen the squad in the areas that need to be strengthened.
I hope you all have a Happy Christmas and let’s hope we all have a better New Year.
