Forfar Athletic v East Fife
[Tuesday, 26 December 2023 19:02]
The cinch league2 campaign reaches the halfway stage on Saturday first as well as being derby day on the fixture list.
That for the ‘Loons’ these days brings with it a clash at the Alpha Projects Stadium @Station Park with most welcome visitors East Fife. Both sides currently sit on the 16 point mark in the table, with the Fifers having the better goal difference and to be fair also a game in hand.
The Athies will be going into the game on the back of an excellent result and performance at Peterhead on Saturday past which brought with it a deserved three point haul. East Fife however were on the wrong side of a 3-0 score line on the Friday evening at Methil against Bonnyrigg Rose.
Forfar manager Ray McKinnon and his staff though will no doubt be emphasising to the squad at training sessions this week scheduled for Wednesday morning and Thursday evening that they must now build upon the momentum following the Balmoor success and hopefully record that to date elusive home league victory.
Saturday’s game will have the usual 3p.m. kick-off.
