Forfar Athletic v Dumbarton
[Tuesday, 02 April 2024 17:43]
The ‘Loons’ welcome Dumbarton to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park on this coming Saturday, the first of three remaining home cinch league2 fixtures as the campaign draws to a conclusion.
Following the 1-0 defeat to Spartans in the Capital City sunshine this past weekend, Ray McKinnon’s side can now only look to cement a mid table spot in the table come the end of the season. They also in all probability require one more victory to make absolutely certain of not being drawn into a dogfight at the foot of the league should results elsewhere go against us in the month ahead.
The Forfar management and players rest assured will be meaning to pick up those points this weekend and move on from there to secure a positive end to the season.
Dumbarton the visitors on Saturday were in fact the last team to head home from Station Park with a three point haul following their 4-2 victory back on December 16th.
The ‘Sons’ currently sit in third position in the table very hopeful of a play-off slot, but these days looking over their shoulder at East Fife in particular.
As has been mentioned in previous despatches, the ‘Loons’ Class of ’84 will be in attendance at Saturday’s game, 40 years after their League Championship heroics.
Saturday’s contest has the usual 3p.m. kick-off.
