Premier Sports Cup – Draw for Group Stage Fixtures

Although the current season is far from over, the SPFL administration are as ever looking ahead and they have already issued details of when the draw for the group stages of next season’s League Cup will be made.

First and foremost it will be contested in the 2024/5 season under a revised branding with the transition in the UK of their subscription channels from the Viaplay banner back to Premier Sports.
The draw for the group stages will take place on Wednesday 29th May at 1p.m. and will be televised live on Premier Sports.

Forty clubs will take part at that stage of the tournament. The five clubs who qualify to participate in the opening rounds of the revamped Champions League, the Europa and Conference Leagues do not enter the competition till the last sixteen knockout stage in mid August.

The remaining thirty-seven SPFL clubs from the current campaign will therefore be joined in the pot on May 29th by the winners of this season’s Lowland and Highland League East Kilbride and Buckie Thistle respectively as well as one other invited non league club.

The group stage fixtures begin on the weekend of 13th/14th July.
