THANKS FOR SUPERB SUPPORT
[Monday, 06 May 2024 13:09]
With the season having now drawn to a close, not in the manner to be fair we had hoped for, the Directors, Management and Players of Forfar Athletic Football Club would like to take the opportunity to thank the supporters for the quite frankly superb backing they have given to the club this season right through to the finishing line.
This support was indeed epitomised on Saturday past when amazingly well in excess of 100 ‘Loons’ supporters made the journey to New Dundas Park in Bonnyrigg to back their side, disappointingly on the day, the performance not quite matching the level of the previous two games.
There have been so many plus points as regards the support we have received during the 2023/4 campaign, but we would just like to highlight five in particular.
1) Increased Season Ticket Sales.
2) At the very least a twenty per cent increase on the home support, especially since the turn of the year and the atmosphere this has created.
3) On many occasions a larger than normal travellingsupport to away grounds, much appreciated.
4) Increase in the number of youngsters and females on the terracing in ‘Loons’ colours, both a huge plus factor
5) Looking back to the Hibernian cup tie, undoubtedly the highlight of the campaign, the fact that the club sold nearly 1,400 tickets for the game, around 500 above the estimated figure and the noise and support those fans generated on the day
The Directors, all at the end of the day supporters themselves take great heart from the above and trust that despite having to accept some negative comment now and then, at times merited the people that matter most to the club the Forfar Athletic fan base, especially those regulars on the terracing at Station Park will continue to give their wholehearted backing to the club next term, a season that will see our beloved ‘Loons’ record another milestone, their 140th year in existence.
Before closing a word of thanks to Josh Grimes of FAFC TV who brings such excellent action to your computer screens at all home games, Chris Coutts for his superb photographic contributions to our website etc and to Logan Hutchison and others who provide match reports etc on a weekly basis.
Over the next month or two we will try our best to keep supporters abreast of all that is happening behind the scenes at Station Park, but in the meantime enjoy the break and look forward to seeing and hearing you all come July.
C’mon the ‘Loons’
