Four players depart Station Park
[Tuesday, 21 May 2024 14:35]
As is always the case, especially in more recent times, squad movement, rotation call it what you will is part and parcel of football at all levels.
Players move on to a new beginning and hopefully a bright future at new clubs while others arrive to replace them.
Forfar Athletic are no different and following discussions over the period since our last league fixture, the club can confirm that Tomas Brindley, Seb Ross, Daniel Scally and Craig Thomson will be moving to pastures new.
All four depart with the thanks of all for their efforts on the ‘Loons’ behalf and with every best wish for their future both on and off the park.
Tomas moved to Station Park initially on loan from Kilmarnock in January of 2021, signing a two year contract on his release by the Rugby Park club five months later.
By the end of the season just completed, he had made sixty-eight starting appearances in the ‘Loons’ colours.
His commitment was certainly never in doubt as he continually made the 200 mile plus trip from his North Ayrshire home to train and play for the club.
Seb who hails from Inverurie and who was a product of the Pittodrie youth set up moved to the ‘Loons’ from Falkirk in January of last year.
The 2023/4 season saw him make twenty-three starting appearances for the ‘Loons’ as well as twelve from the subs bench, netting six goals into the bargain.
Craig has spent the last three seasons at Station Park following a move from Airdrieonians.
This past season his appearances were limited due to both injury and new work commitments within the Scottish Fire Brigade, but during the campaign he did reach the milestone of fifty berths in the starting line-up in Athies colours.
Daniel began his second spell with the club earlier in the year following a return from a spell in the USA.
He went on to make eight starting appearances in that second half of the campaign.
Thanks again and all the best to all.
The club are confident they will have more positive news for the fans on the re-singing front and also perhaps a new face or two in the next 7/10 days.
Watch this space.
