SPORTSMAN’S DINNER 2024
[Monday, 16 September 2024 20:25]
Following the success of last year’s Sportsman’s Dinner, Forfar Athletic will again be holding our annual dinner at ‘home’ in the Reid Hall in Forfar. As advised previously, the date of this year’s dinner is Friday 25 October 2024.
This will be our 27th year of the event. It has without doubt been an incredibly popular fixture on the Loons’ calendar, and of course a successful fundraiser for the Club thanks to the many supporters who have attended over the years. Indeed, one or two have not missed many, if any.
The entertainment line up for the night will be:
JOHN MCKELVIE – Having enjoyed last year’s event so much, John will again be our ‘master of ceremonies’. The former policeman has turned his after dinner performances into a fine art and we are looking forward to welcoming him back to Forfar.
TOSH MCKINLAY – Capped 22 times for Scotland, the SPL and Scottish Cup winning left-back will this year will be making his first appearance for us. The former Scottish internationalist counts Dundee, Hearts, Celtic and Kilmarnock as clubs that he has played for in Scotland. We look forward to his debut performance, as they say in football parlance.
STUART MITCHELL – Now regarded as one of the UK’s top comedians, the now Tik Tok star will provide the comedy element for us this year. Starting his stand up comedy in 2009, Stuart is now the longest serving panellist on BBC’s “Breaking the News”.
Tickets for this year’s dinner are priced at £60 per person or £600 for a full table of ten, which Loons’ officials hope still represents good value for money in the current climate. This is inclusive of a two course meal, followed by a selection of cheese and biscuits with tea and coffee. We are delighted that our new hospitality provider Gregory Johnston of Silva Service Catering, already proving to be a big hit at Station Park, will be providing the catering at this year’s dinner.
Tickets can be booked now by contacting any Forfar Athletic Director, or Commercial Director Alan Shepherd by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by phone on 07803208502.
Lastly, and as ever, we are on the lookout for auction and raffle prizes which always play a major part in the drive to raise vital funds for the Loons. If anyone feels able to assist us with this in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out to any FAFC Director.
