Forfar built in their win over Bonnyrigg by claiming a hard earned earned point against The Spartans at Ainslie Park.
The Loons made only one change from the win in Midlothian, Danny Denholm was unavailable to play against his parent club and was replaced by Blair Malcolm.
The hosts got off to a quick start and almost took the lead in the very early stages. Cammy Russell got in behind the defence and rounded Marc McCallum but Cammy Logan got across excellently to squeeze the attacker out.
The Loons played their way in to the game and got their noses in front after 38 minutes. Reuben McAllister stepped up after Kieran Ingles was felled 25 yards from goal. The youngster bent a sublime low effort around the wall and in to the bottom corner for his second in as many games.
The second half was as similarly cagey as the first but The Spartans drew level just as the Loons were looking to take control. The hosts broke down the right and crossed for Cammy Russell, who controlled and fired low across goal excellently, leaving McCallum hopeless.
Forfar had to weather a bit of a Spartans storm in the next 15 minutes but came back in to the game with Logan and Cannon causing problems.
Mitch Taylor had the Loons best chance with his first kick of the ball when he latched on to Declan Byrne’s flick and poked beyond the onrushing goalkeeper. The ball trickled inches wide of the post, although the flag went up in any case.
Forfar defended resolutely to secure the point, which moves them closer to the pack in front.
The Loons now prepare for the next two crucial games, beginning with the visit of Clyde on Saturday.
